How We Can Help

Online Training for Emergency Responders

If you are an emergency responder, we invite you to participate in our free online training program. In about an hour, you will learn about basic rail safety precautions, railroad operations, initial response procedures, types of rail equipment and who to call in an emergency. You can also use the site to sign up for live training events in your area.

Operation Lifesaver

CSX is proud to support Operation Lifesaver, a non-profit, international, public education program first established in 1972 to end collisions, deaths and injuries at highway-rail grade crossings and on railroad rights-of-way.

The CSX Transportation Public Safety and Environment department provides training and emergency planning materials for emergency response agencies free of charge.
