CSX employee, Angie Nicely Fliess, spends her free time giving back to the community. Fliess is the volunteer leader of Ladybug Service Club Inc., a nonprofit “kids helping kids” group that performs service projects in Jacksonville throughout the year.

CSX Donates Computers to Community Connections

Thanks to CSX and its employees, Jacksonville’s Community Connections now has 30 refurbished computers for use by children in after-school programs.

K-9 Contribution

Lake Township, OH

A recent $5,000 donation from CSX to the city of Lake Township, Ohio, has begun to pay dividends. The contribution, in part, helped support the purchase of a new addition to the local K-9 program.

Jacksonville Heart Walk a Success

Early on the morning of September 26, more than 320 CSX employees came out to Metropolitan Park for the American Heart Association's Annual Heart Walk.

CSX Sponsors Mayor's Book Club for Kids in Jacksonville

Jacksonville, FL

The sponsorships by CSX and other organizations total more than $92,000 in value, and will support nine of the 12 Mayor's Book Club books, as well as a parent guide, flash cards, book organizer, bookmark, door hanger and coloring book for up to 12,000 4-year-olds who join the club this year.

Art for Children's Sake

Jacksonville, FL

CSX employee, Pat Murphy, posed proudly with her personalized sea turtle sculpture in June. The turtle, like others for this year's campaign to benefit troubled children, will be on display near the CSX headquarters building in Jacksonville until it is auctioned off this fall to benefit the Child Guidance Center.

CSX Delivers Dignity

The suits, sport coats, slacks and dress shirts being donated by Men's Wearhouse to Dignity U Wear (DUW) were sure to provide a boost to men in need. But in order to receive the donation, DUW had to find help to quickly pick up the clothes and deliver them – and that's where CSX stepped in.

CareForce Containers Deliver Help on a Larger Scale

Of the thousands of tons of freight CSX moves every year, none is quite as precious as the hope and help delivered by CareForce 1 and CareForce 2 – two 53-foot containers that CSX has donated to City Year, a national nonprofit organization engaged in the transformation of schools, parks, and communities through physical service.

Safe Habits Start at an Early Age

Children's Village has established the ambitious goal of providing free life safety education to all second grade students in Washington County. Thanks to a $7,500 grant from CSX, the organization will get much closer to realizing this achievement.

Keep on Living Bike MS

Sep 20, 2008 in St. Augustine to Daytona, FL

Team CSX was among 2,300 cyclists and more than 300 volunteers from North Florida who participated in the September 20 ride from St. Augustine and Daytona, Florida. Each cyclist raised a minimum of $200 to help heighten awareness and contribute toward research to cure multiple sclerosis.
